Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. is looking for a dynamic regional business leader to drive success of our first rare disease brand in the Big East region.

Hiring location(s)
Boston, MA; Princeton, NJ; Summit, NJ; New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Richmond, VA. Must reside within region and near major airport for overnight travel.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent; build a high‑performing team of Area Business Managers.
Build a patient‑focussed culture, create vision, model values, maintain accountability.
Coach and provide feedback during field visits; evaluate performance and provide guidance.
Lead the development of strategic and tactical plans to achieve and exceed regional sales objectives.
Use business analytics to understand market dynamics, prioritize resources, and guide execution.
Establish performance metrics and hold team accountable ethically and compliantly.
Maintain deep understanding of local markets, customers, trends, and practice structures.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (marketing, training, commercial effectiveness) to align strategies and leverage resources.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to develop approved resources and programs for top‑line growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years in pharmaceuticals or life sciences (12 years for Senior role).
3+ years of experience in rare disease or specialty sales (5+ years in leadership for Senior).
Proven track record of leading and coaching high‑performing teams with influence and inspiration.
Strong relationship building with matrixed organization and external stakeholders.
Business acumen with a winning mindset and continuous improvement focus.
Ability to travel up to 70% and hold a valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
Must reside close to region and major airport; overnight travel may be required.
Scope
The role delivers regional revenue growth and patient impact through effective team leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration aligned with Acadia’s mission.
Salary Range
Regional Business Leader: $164,000–$205,000; Senior: $184,000–$230,000.
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, walking, sitting, and handling light equipment. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Travel by car or airplane up to 70%.
