Position Summary The Community Relations Director (Sales and Marketing Director) will manage all community outreach to maintain and exceed occupancy goals through strategic and long‑term planning. This includes identifying and building relationships with referral sources, generating qualified leads, conducting community tours, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee sales and marketing strategies and tactics for the community.
Design and execute the community’s annual marketing plan in partnership with executive leadership.
Manage the lead base, responding to inquiries in real time.
Maintain or improve community occupancy levels and revenue production.
Conduct walk‑in and scheduled tours for prospective residents.
Provide sales activity reports detailing lead status and next steps.
Follow up on all potential residents, referral sources, or interested parties.
Maintain accurate customer relationship management (Yardi) records.
Supervise, direct, and motivate the sales team.
Foster resident satisfaction through strong relationships with staff and residents.
Ensure proper placement and education of prospects in accordance with care regulations.
Represent the community at outreach events, networking meetings, trade shows, and community functions.
Monitor and manage promotional inventory and print advertising needs.
Oversee social media accounts.
Manage marketing budget and provide pricing information for advertisements, directories, events, and memberships.
Requirements
High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
At least 3–5 years of relational sales experience in assisted living, independent living, hospitality, or healthcare settings.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals.
Strong team‑player mentality and passion for serving seniors.
Excellent time‑management, initiative, and judgment.
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends if needed.
Professional ethics, positive attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM software.
Valid driver’s license.
