Are you a strategic, hands-on financial leader ready to make an impact? We’re seeking a Controller to build and lead the financial infrastructure that supports our organization’s mission and long-term growth.
As Controller, you’ll oversee all financial operations from accounting and reporting to budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, while providing the insights and leadership that drive informed, strategic decisions. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in both strategic and operational capacities and is passionate about advancing a meaningful mission through strong fiscal stewardship.
What You’ll Do
Lead all accounting functions: general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and cash management.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls that ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards.
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for leadership and the Board.
Manage annual audits and compliance filings.
Drive budgeting and forecasting, delivering actionable financial insights.
Implement and improve financial systems and processes to boost efficiency and transparency.
Oversee grant and donor-restricted fund accounting and ensure proper stewardship.
Mentor and support the finance team to achieve operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit or foundation.
Expertise in GAAP, nonprofit fund accounting, and grant compliance.
Proven success designing and improving accounting systems and internal controls.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
A proactive, collaborative, and mission-driven mindset.
