Director of District Title IX Compliance

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is the largest school district in Georgia, serving over 180,000 students across 142 schools. We are seeking a Director of District Title IX Compliance to provide corporate compliance leadership and regulatory oversight for Title IX, Title VI, and Title VII programs within the district.
Primary Responsibility
Direct, implement, and facilitate compliance programming for Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Develop and implement educational programs regarding discrimination and sexual harassment prevention.
Collaborate with district leadership to identify and address systemic problems.
Serve as a legal advisor to the Chief Human Resources Officer regarding contracts and employment law.
What You Need
Thorough knowledge of federal and state equity laws, including Title VI, VII, and IX.
Experience conducting executive-level investigations and reviewing contracts for legal compliance.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and workshops.
Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and implementing new strategies.
Preferred Experience and Education
Minimum of five years of professional experience (10 years preferred) in human resources, personnel administration, investigations, or policy development.
Master's degree in a related field required; Advanced degree in law or labor law (Juris Master, Master of Legal Studies, or Juris Doctor preferred).
Significant investigatory experience, especially in allegations of misconduct and discrimination.
Substantive knowledge of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and related federal and state laws.
Progressive leadership experience, including developing and presenting educational and training programs.
Note: This position is full-time and falls under the Human Resources, Education, and Legal job function within GCPS. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, providing guidance on reasonable accommodation, and delivering ongoing training to staff and leadership.
