Summary Working from a solutions-oriented approach, the staff podiatrist treats a variety of foot and ankle ailments, including calluses, ingrown toenails, heel spurs, arch problems, and foot/leg problems associated with diabetes and other diseases. Responsibilities include ensuring podiatry is coordinated with other clinical departments in providing patients with a Patient-Centered Medical Home, coaching and mentoring other clinicians and support staff, troubleshooting medical services, and performing routine procedures within scope of California law and Gracelight policies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supports and implements the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

Determines priorities and method for completing daily workload to ensure timely responsibilities.

Performs all job functions in a professional and courteous manner, including answering general phone calls and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Supervises personnel, including screening, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and terminating; directs, disciplines, coaches, and motivates staff regarding performance, problem solving, and decision-making; conducts all aspects of supervision in a professional and objective manner.

Performs job duties independently and exercises good judgment.

Qualifications

Completion of a Doctor of Podiatry (DPM) graduate degree.

Licensure by the California Board of Health to practice in the State of California.

Minimum of three years’ clinical work experience and two years’ experience managing a multi‑provider practice preferred.

Current, valid podiatrist license in the State of California’s Board of Podiatric Medicine; current DEA license and CPR required.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Leadership skills and ability to manage time efficiently.

Knowledge of compliance standards, ability to maintain a safe work environment, and confidentiality.

Physical Demands Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel; frequent standing, walking, and sitting; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or lifting up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 30 pounds; ascending/descending one flight of stairs. Requires close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment Low noise level, but often high ambient background noise of phones and conversations; requires ability to concentrate and screen out background noise.
