AECOM Advisory is seeking a dynamic

Director

or

Associate Director

to expand our growing global Advisory business line. The role focuses on economic, environmental, and social vibrancy, supporting senior-level clients across the US West Region (Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL). Role

As a leader in AECOM Advisory’s US West Region, your day-to-day responsibilities will include driving business development, overseeing engagement delivery, and supporting practice development across diverse consulting teams. Responsibilities

Be present in industry conversations and professional networks to identify and originate business development opportunities. Leverage industry expertise and commercial acumen to proactively target, define, and shape business development campaigns. Manage all aspects of proposal responses as Capture Manager, including narrative development, technical solutions, pricing, team definition, subcontractor engagement, internal risk review, and compliance procedures. Lead and supervise multiple delivery teams (5–8 consultants and senior consultants) across interdependent workstreams. Lead client interactions on delivery progress, insight validation, and planning with C‑suite clients and senior management stakeholders. Manage inputs from regional leadership, Directors, Client Account Managers, and technical experts to flag key delivery choices, considerations, and risks. Design analytical workstreams and provide guidance to engagement teams. Provide timely quality assurance and control over scope, assumptions, analyses, and insights. Lead narrative formulation and production of highly polished deliverables to meet client expectations and firm standards. Own project financial performance and support overall practice area operational performance improvement, thought leadership, and IP generation. Coach and mentor junior staff on developing core consulting skills. Required Competencies

Strong interpersonal skills with a client-service mindset and ability to act as a trusted adviser. Experience in a high-tempo, high-context client-facing environment, maintaining poise under pressure. Able to be self-directed and comfortable working across a highly-matrixed consulting organization. Solid verbal communication and narrative development skills, summarizing key insights for C‑suite and senior management. Strong commercial acumen and informed point-of-view on enterprise challenges. Team-player who collaborates within a small, motivated consulting team. Domain expertise in at least two of the following areas: corporate strategy, organizational assessment, capital projects advisory, decarbonization, economic development, technology-led transformation, corporate finance, and M&A. Qualifications

Minimum Required:

At least 8 years of strategic, financial, or management consulting and/or related industry experience (or equivalent). Bachelor’s degree. Preferred:

12 years of related industry experience. MBA or other master’s degree in Operational Research, Management, Finance, Economics, Systems Engineering, or related fields. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong technical skills, including experience with: ArcGIS, spatial analysis tools, R or Python, evaluation of financial cashflows via Excel. Additional Information
