We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Farm Manager
to oversee all aspects of farm operations. The Farm Manager will be responsible for production planning, daily operations, CSA and flower share management, marketing, financial oversight, and customer relations. The Farm managerwill assist in overseeing all farming activities, coordinating volunteers, and contributing to the farm’s overall success. We are a tight-knit community, and fostering community engagement with our customers and CSA members is a necessity. Most importantly, the Farm Manager will promote sustainable agricultural practices in a variable climate to ensure high yields and successful vegetable sales. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities Farm Operations
Develop and implement annual crop plans for vegetables, flowers, and cover crops.
Manage soil health, fertility, crop rotation, and pest/weed management strategies.
Oversee greenhouse and high tunnel production, including seeding schedules, propagation, and season extension.
Manage irrigation systems and ensure efficient water use.
Supervise harvesting, washing, packing, and distribution of produce and flowers.
Care for a small flock of laying hens, ensuring proper feeding, housing, and health.
Manage all aspects of the 100-member Vegetable CSA and 35-member Flower Share.
Recruit, train, and supervise seasonal staff, and volunteers.
Develop and manage the farm budget in collaboration with ownership.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in diversified vegetable and flower production.
Strong knowledge of organic/sustainable farming practices.
Experience with CSA operations and direct‑to‑consumer marketing preferred.
Ability to create and manage budgets.
Skilled in crop planning, pest/weed management, irrigation, and soil health practices.
Greenhouse/high tunnel management experience required.
Strong leadership and communication skills; able to manage staff and interact with CSA members.
Ability to work long, physically demanding hours in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license required.
