Customs Entry Writer – Dallas, TX
Compensation:
$70,000 – $85,000 (DOE) + annual bonus + incentive program

Overview:
A global freight forwarder in Dallas is seeking a skilled Customs Entry Writer to process and manage import entries across air and ocean freight shipments. This position requires precision, regulatory awareness, and the ability to ensure complete compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA).
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and file import entries in ACE and ABI for all modes of transport.
Classify commodities under HTSUS and verify valuation, country of origin, and duty rate accuracy.
Communicate with importers, carriers, and CBP to resolve holds, exams, and documentation discrepancies.
Manage PGA requirements including FDA, USDA, EPA, and Fish & Wildlife.
Maintain compliance with 19 CFR regulations and internal quality procedures.
Collaborate with operations, account management, and clients to ensure timely clearance and billing.
Support audits, post-entry corrections, and compliance reporting as required.
Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in U.S. Customs Brokerage, preferably within a licensed freight forwarder.
Strong knowledge of HTS classification, customs entry processes, and PGA regulations.
Proficiency in CargoWise, Descartes, or similar systems.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills.
Stable career history with proven compliance record.
