Business Office Assistant – Fall River Healthcare

Full Time Position

Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Business Office Manager/Executive Director with financial functions within the facility business office. This employee focuses primarily on assisting the BOM in maximizing cash flow through efficient billing and collection processes according to the organization’s established policies and procedures or as directed by the Executive Director.

Functions:

• Census: Review financial information on all new admissions. Ensure census changes reported on the Midnight Nursing Census are recorded in Point Click Care and on the Daily Census Report. Balanced Daily Census is emailed daily to interested parties.
• Billing: Process statements for all Private Pay and Patient Liability accounts, process co‑insurance billing for Med A, Med B Managed Care, and Private insurance claims that do not cross over electronically. Enter Patient Liability Changes into PCC when notice received from Mass Health. Meet with residents/authorized representatives to collect outstanding Patient Liability.
• Cash Receipts: Process remote deposits and NDC transfers from RFMS daily. Scan and post all deposits to Operations and RFMS accounts.
• Collections: Follow up on outstanding Patient Liability, private balances, and co‑insurance claims, and report problem accounts to Business Office Manager and Regional A/R Manager.
• Resident Fund Accounts: Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and provide residents with cash for personal needs when necessary. Pay invoices due to hairdresser, barber, insurance policies, etc., from resident funds.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma.
