Location: San Francisco, CA 94109 – Prime downtown area near iconic landmarks and parks Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – California nursing jobs Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026) Hours per Week: 36 Weekend Rotation: Required (minimum every other weekend) Floating: May float to TICU, Med/Tele, Medical-Surgical, or other CPMC locations

ICU RN Qualifications & Requirements

Active California Registered Nurse License (required at time of submission) BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications (all required and current) Minimum 3 years of recent ICU nursing experience (4 years preferred) Experience in Trauma Level I ICU setting Epic EMR charting system experience preferred Ability to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing Background information disclosed prior to submission Return staff policy: Must be gone 1 year to return as traveler

ICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a 36-bed Intensive Care Unit Manage complex cases including multisystem organ dysfunction, trauma, neuro, and post-surgical patients Perform and assist with advanced ICU procedures: arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, ventilator management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administer procedural sedation Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response Float to other units as needed based on census Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions Complete required modules and orientation for travel nurses
