Appointments may be on a part-time basis and vary in duration, from a couple of weeks to a semester or an academic year, depending on the needs of the department or program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and duration. General Statement

Gallatin College seeks course instructors to teach in Bozeman in one or more of the following specialty areas: Electronics Optics/Lasers/Photonics Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Academic degree in Physics, Engineering or related fields Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering Prior teaching experience Understanding of the two-year college mission Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity The Successful Candidate Will
Work professionally and effectively with diverse individuals Possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Gallatin College Montana State University Have an appreciation of diverse constituencies and add intellectual diversity to the department. Students completing the AAS in Photonics and Laser Technology will learn the scientific principles of optics, fiber-optics, and lasers. This training will prepare students to become technicians who work on products or devices in manufacturing, communications, defense, homeland security, medical, information technology, energy, environmental monitoring, lighting, displays, and entertainment.
