Brief Position Overview: Gallatin College seeks non‑tenure track faculty to teach Basic Writing Skills (WRIT 080), Developmental Writing (WRIT 095), College Writing (WRIT 101) and Effective Academic Practices (COLS 100) to MSU and Gallatin College students.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach Basic Writing Skills (WRIT 080)

Teach Developmental Writing (WRIT 095)

Teach College Writing (WRIT 101)

Teach Effective Academic Practices (COLS 100)

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Academic degree in English, education, or related fields.

Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Master’s degree in English and/or Education.

Prior teaching experience.

Understanding of the Two‑Year College Mission.

Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.

Have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Gallatin College Montana State University.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information The position may be a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit. Faculty positions more than .5 FTE may be eligible for benefits as outlined in the policies of the Montana Two‑Year College Faculty Association (MTYCFA), Montana State University, the Montana University System or the AFMSU Non Tenure Track Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Physical Demands Normal classroom environment. Functional competency and the ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Program and Department Gallatin College offers developmental coursework, transfer degrees, and workforce certificates. It complements the four‑year programs at Montana State University and supports workforce development.

Posting Detail Information Number of Vacancies: Multiple. Desired Start Date: As needed. Applications will be reviewed and retained in hiring pool up to two years.
