About the Role Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – Staff Educator
to join our leadership team. This pivotal role combines administrative and clinical leadership with a strong focus on staff development and education.
The ideal candidate is a
Registered Nurse (RN)
who excels in clinical training, regulatory compliance, and team mentorship. You will play a vital role in shaping a culture of excellence through continuous education and by empowering staff to deliver the highest standard of resident care.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing the day-to-day operations of the nursing department.
Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive staff education and training programs.
Conduct orientation and onboarding for new nursing staff.
Deliver ongoing in-service training and continuing education to ensure regulatory compliance.
Assess staff competencies, monitor clinical performance, and provide coaching and mentorship.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives, audits, and performance improvement projects.
Uphold infection control, resident safety, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Serve as a clinical role model, fostering professionalism, teamwork, and excellence in care.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
BSN preferred; advanced degree a plus.
Minimum 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Prior experience in staff education, clinical instruction, or training strongly preferred.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and nursing standards of practice.
