About The Role CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) works with clients to make real estate a meaningful contributor to organizational productivity and performance. As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services/Laboratory Technical Services (LIS/LTS) Manager, you will manage a team responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all scientific instrumentation within a laboratory.

The role oversees a team dedicated to managing the full lifecycle of laboratory equipment, encompassing both vendor-managed services and self-performed maintenance activities. From the client’s perspective, this role is the central point-of-contact for all instrument-related activities, focusing on operational efficiency, technical proficiency, and regulatory compliance, where applicable.

What you’ll do

Oversee and manage the LIS program, including managing a group of employees responsible for vendor management, self-perform maintenance, and calibration services.

Ensure all programs and procedures of the staff are properly performed.

Support the development and administration of the department budget.

Review expenditures for tools, equipment, supplies, materials, and additional contract requirements and submit for approval.

Review and update LIS and LTS equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.

Track, evaluate, and report performance on quality, safety, cost, and customer satisfaction.

Manage contractor specifications, problems, performance, and administration.

Conduct financial analysis including the preparation of reports.

Order and track inventory of spare parts and consumables.

Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.

Coach others and share in-depth knowledge within the function.

Lead by example and model CBRE RISE values; build consensus to reach agreements.

Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and related teams.

Work within broad guidelines and policies; explain difficult or sensitive information.

Encourage the team to identify and implement process improvements related to instrument maintenance, vendor relations, and troubleshooting.

Provide formal supervision to employees; monitor training and development; conduct performance evaluations and coaching; oversee recruiting and hiring.

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention; ability to convey performance expectations and handle sensitive information.

Strong leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets with impact across multiple departments.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Excellent organizational skills with an inquisitive approach.

Sophisticated math skills, including ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial calculations.
