Position Overview
Assume responsibility for echocardiographic testing in the cardiovascular department. Perform all 2D echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs). Ensure proper and economical use of equipment, supplies, and other clinical resources, maintaining appropriate records and files.
Location
Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, MD.
Schedule
7:00?AM 5:30?PM Monday?Friday (10?hour shifts) with rotating days off; on?call required.
Pay Rate
Starting at $48.00 per hour (based on experience).
Requirements
Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, equipment use, and hospital/departments policies. Perform all 2D echos, TEEs, and stress echo tests. Maintain proper use and upkeep of echo machines and probes; notify repair service as needed. Order supplies and ensure non?invasive equipment availability for TEEs. Communicate with non?invasive units and cardiac OR as needed. Deliver quality care, maintain records, and use the computer and filing system effectively. Enter charges into the billing program for inpatients and outpatients. Respond to stats for in/outpatients in a timely manner. Maintain documentation for Echo Lab certification. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associates degree required, Bachelor of Science preferred. Registered in Maryland as an RCVT (Registered Cardiovascular Tech) or RDCS. Echocardiograph certification required. CPR/BLS required. Minimum five years of experience performing echocardiograms in a hospital setting.
