Overview
Bright Antenna Records is hiring an experienced Product Manager to join our indie label team. We are a tight knit team with global partnerships with Sony/Orchard, AWAL Distribution, and Island/Universal. We are looking for a natural marketer willing to make contacts and create meaningful opportunities for our artists. Must have previous experience in the music industry and be passionate about music. We are home to artists including Wilderado, Fana Hues, PREP, Sports Team, Windser, Akira Galaxy, and more. Please check out our artists prior to applying to ensure this is a good fit. This is a full-time, in-person position. Must live in the SF Bay Area or be willing to relocate and be able to come into our office in Mill Valley, across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. PRODUCT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION (Mill Valley, CA)
Responsibilities
Marketing Develop and execute marketing strategy for artists’ music and music-related products across the Bright Antenna roster. These include but are not limited to: singles/EPs/albums, music videos, merchandise, and direct-to-consumer business.
Develop marketing plans and social media campaigns with the team to ensure successful releases.
Coordinate interviews, photoshoots, and video shoots in line with artists’ identity and marketing release strategy.
Monitor press coverage and track the success of marketing campaigns against sales.
Analyze streaming, sales, radio, and social data and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
Create cost-efficient promotions and advertising for retail and consumer audiences.
Release support Plan the launch of artist albums and singles, both physical and digital.
Guide and execute artist branding, creative materials, and original content for each campaign.
Create and maintain release timelines within budgets and other resource plans.
Utilize data from DSPs, social media activity, and sales to identify trends and provide insights for future campaigns.
Identify opportunities such as industry award submissions or funding applications to maximize release impact.
Suggest innovative technology to support releases (apps, sites, immersive experiences) to maximize exposure.
Artist / Label intermediary Interface with artists and management on release plans and marketing strategy to ensure project success.
Communicate goals and project analysis with the company, artists, and management.
Develop and maintain relationships with labels/artists.
Collaborate with digital marketing and sales staff to maximize efforts.
Assist managers in day-to-day client services across multiple clients.
Additional duties General support to Senior Product Manager.
Aid managers in building digital marketing strategies across social, paid, email, etc.
Brainstorm and manage online promotions including contests, giveaways, and pre-saves.
Manage asset creation and edits of online properties for artists.
Conduct competitive market research to stay aware of new music marketing trends.
Assist with coordinating company events such as listening parties, press conferences, and media tours.
Required competencies / Skills
Ideal candidate has a minimum of 3–5 years experience working for a record label and 1–2 years as a product manager or junior product manager. Please do not apply if you do not have prior music industry experience.
Must work well in a small, close-knit team and contribute ideas.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail in metadata, content creation, and communication.
Willing to take responsibility with a strong sense of accountability.
Excellent communication across multiple levels and departments.
Strong sense of community and care for customer relations.
Ability to learn quickly and be self-directed.
Problem-solving skills with conceptual thinking and attention to details.
Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technologies.
Strong sense of branding and aesthetics.
Must love music and familiarize yourself with the artists on our website before applying.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
