DaVita Kidney Care invites experienced nephrology leaders to apply for the Vice President, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Integrated Kidney Care (IKC) role. This executive position focuses on shaping clinical strategy, elevating quality, and leading cross‑functional teams to improve outcomes and total cost of care for CKD and ESKD populations.
Base pay range:
$275,000 – $382,000 per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead IKC clinical care models across markets to reduce hospitalizations, improve engagement, and lower total cost of care.
Design and implement clinical infrastructure, metrics, and milestones aligned to DaVita initiatives (e.g., CKD/ESKD programs, home therapies).
Guide model‑of‑care development and implementation (e.g., CKCC and other value‑based programs) in partnership with physician practices and internal teams.
Review population‑level data (utilization, quality, risk) to drive evidence‑based changes to strategy and process.
Partner with Home Dialysis leadership to expand home treatment options within IKC.
Oversee regulatory and compliance considerations for clinical programs; contribute to risk stratification and safety oversight.
Build strong relationships with partner nephrologists; advance shared clinical governance and physician accountability.
Proactively meet regularly with DaVita clinical and operational leaders to review care quality, documentation, and operational performance.
Update and refine protocols and playbooks that support NPs and care teams in managing panels at scale.
Lead education for physicians and practices on IKC and value‑based programs.
Develop training and change‑management plans so teammates perform at top of license.
Champion clinical documentation excellence and IT enablement (EMR workflows, automation, compliance flags).
Serve as an executive liaison with CMMI/CMS and other external agencies; engage physician counterparts and key stakeholders to advance IKC’s mission.

What You’ll Bring
Clinical leadership background:
5+ years nephrology clinical practice experience or relevant clinical experience within value‑based care for patients with poly‑chronic disease.
3+ years leading clinical organizations with advanced practitioner providers.
3+ years prior leadership and leading teams (e.g., medical director or equivalent).
Population health & VBC expertise with a track record improving quality, patient experience, and cost outcomes.
Builder mindset – create, pilot, and scale programs in evolving environments; bring teammates along through change.
People developer & coach – model service excellence with patients, families, physicians and administrators.
Cultural competence and ability to lead diverse teams and communities.

Education & Credentials
MD or DO required.
Board certification in Nephrology (or Internal Medicine with deep CKD/ESKD experience) preferred.
