Working Title: Graduate Assistant - CLA Office of the Dean

The College of Liberal Arts is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support the Associate Dean for Community Engagement. The position involves assisting with the creation and distribution of a college-wide newsletter aimed at both internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include researching, drafting, and editing content, coordinating contributions, and ensuring timely publication. Additionally, the Graduate Assistant will support college-level social media and help develop social media content to promote college and departmental activities, events, and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Full-time graduate student currently admitted to the Graduate School.

Good academic standing.

Registered full-time for the respective semester (9 credit hours in Fall/Spring, 6 credit hours in Summer, or required credit hours to fulfill degree plan).

Full-time graduate student (9 hours Fall/Spring, 6 hours Summer).

Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with faculty, staff, students and prospective students.

Willing to work twenty hours per week with a flexible distribution of hours.

Superior writing, editing and meticulous data entry skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Organized and able to meet critical deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Full-time graduate student – Communication major preferred.

Familiar with Canva and basic video editing for social media.

Bilingual English/Spanish with strong written skills.

Experience with publication writing.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
