Target Security Specialist
The Target Security Specialist protects guests, team members, and the brand by maintaining a safe environment and responding to threats in a fast‑moving, physically demanding retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests at the front of the store and promote a welcoming experience.
Maintain safety and security throughout the store, including exterior property.
Respond to, document, and manage security incidents using Target’s video surveillance and case‑management systems.
Leverage de‑escalation tactics and physical security controls to resolve conflicts and support the store team.
Conduct merchandise theft recoveries, merchandise receipt checks, and theft‑apprehension support in line with AP policy.
Communicate trends and incidents to management and law enforcement, when required.
Adhere to all Target safety and compliance policies and report hazards.
Perform other duties as directed to support business needs.

Work well in a flexible, changing schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
Remain calm and effective in a physically demanding, high‑energy work environment.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum age 18 years; high‑school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with handheld scanners, multiple‑frequency radios, and Target’s technology.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
Physically able to handle lifting and moving merchandise up to 40 lbs and maneuver ladders.
Legal and state licensing requirements met, if applicable.
