Assets Protection (AP) Teams AP teams keep our guests, teams, and brand secure through crisis events, theft prevention, fraud resolution, and building relationships with store leaders and public safety officials.
Key Skills and Experience
Intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe.

De‑escalation skills and physical security controls.
Target video surveillance system usage.
Accurate documentation using case‑management systems.
Typical Responsibilities
Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests at the front of store.
Promote a physical security culture for team members and guests by maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
Respond to and document security incidents promptly.
Provide support to guests, ensuring a safe environment.
Leverage de‑escalation tactics across the store.
Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed, following AP policies.
Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store through merchandise receipt checks and trend communication.
Submit documentation in the case‑management system for all incidents.
Use Target’s video surveillance system appropriately.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies, training, and report hazards.
Perform any business‑needed duties.

Training and Required Skills

Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Manage workload and prioritize tasks.
Maintain focus and composure in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within timeframes.
Physical and Technical Requirements
Climb up and down ladders.
Apprehend subjects per company policy.
Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
Remain mobile for scheduled shift duration.
