Job Summary
Position: Anesthesia Technician, PRN (Varied Shift)
PRN (as needed): Varied shift – must cover day/evening shifts.
BLS (American Heart Association) required.
1+ year of Anesthesia Technician experience preferred.
Location: Memorial Hermann Memorial City.
Responsibilities The role is responsible for assisting the anesthesiologist in the operating room.
Assists anesthesiologists as directed, performing duties according to the needs of the patient.
Prepares anesthesia machine and cart with required supplies prior to each case and maintains anesthesia and monitoring equipment.
Assists with endotracheal intubation and extubation procedures during routine and emergency procedures.
Performs inventory, orders and restocks anesthesia medications, trays and supplies; cleans and restocks anesthesia equipment; transports supplies to other departments as needed.
Ensures infection control and sterile technique; follows CDC guidelines for central line placement and device disinfection.
Participates in quality assurance and associated documentation.
Performs patient care duties such as hair removal, blood product transport, patient positioning and adherence to safety rules.
Promotes professional growth, mentors less experienced staff, supports department goals, and maintains high service standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Successful completion of hospital specific orientation program.
Licenses/Certifications: None required.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Minimum of one (1) year current Operating Room experience.
