Base pay range

Location: Houston, Texas (Galleria area – Hybrid work: 2 days remote, 3 days in-office) Department / Reporting Line: Accounting Department, reporting to CEO (or designated senior executive) Employment Type: Full-time, local hire Experience in large corporations or multinational organizations; background with a Big 4 firm (such as EY, Deloitte, KPMG, or PwC) is highly preferred. Experience handling complex accounting matters such as M&A, impairment testing, valuation, hedge accounting, and derivatives. Mission Lead all accounting and financial reporting functions under US GAAP, ensure timely and accurate closings, and provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions to support management decision-making. Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting under US GAAP. Lead coordination with external auditors and tax advisors. Manage accounting operations hands-on, including supervision and development of accounting staff. Provide technical accounting advice on complex matters such as M&A, impairment testing, valuation, hedge accounting, and derivatives. Strengthen internal controls and ensure SOX compliance where applicable. Oversee accounting system improvements and process automation. Prepare management reports and analysis for executive leadership. Serve as the accounting point of contact for global or regional finance teams. Qualifications – Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. Active/non-active US CPA license. Previously held CPA is acceptable. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting. Proven hands-on management experience leading accounting teams. Solid understanding of US GAAP and complex accounting areas (M&A, impairment, derivatives, hedge accounting). Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the energy, manufacturing, or investment-related industries is preferred but not required. Experience in large corporations or multinational organizations; background with a Big 4 firm (such as EY, Deloitte, KPMG, or PwC) is highly preferred. Experience handling complex accounting matters such as M&A, impairment testing, valuation, hedge accounting, and derivatives. ERP experience (such as SAP, Oracle, or OneStream) is a plus but not a primary requirement.
