Job Description Summary
The Logistics Coordinator manages a key role in the execution of transportation plans and services. They are responsible for the transportation request and delivery to the customer, including mode and carrier selection, load optimization, shipment tendering, routing guide compliance, and shipment plan/carrier service execution, and track & trace functions.
Responsibilities
Work with the Logistics Project Manager (LPM) and cross-functional supply chain representatives regularly via participation in optimization and execution of daily transportation and shipment planning
Maintain project freight estimate, logistics plan and accurate cost tracking.
Ensure orders and shipments are optimized via the TMS and other client provided peripheral tools. Orders and shipments are to be planned and covered for timely and in-full service to the end customer.
Facilitate communications/coordination between internal customer groups and external carrier contacts to ensure attainment of service level objectives. Focus efforts on timely pick-up/delivery and overall partner satisfaction.
Monitor data flows between ERP systems, TMS, and internal project management systems to ensure synchronization for successful transportation execution.
Identify Gaps in transportation capacity and initiate accurate measures with the Transportation Capacity Planning team.
Lead aspects of application of carrier performance management programs and techniques; providing reporting, documentation, and recommendations to drive improvement.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Review, understand and execute the contractual requirements and alignment with the logistics delivery service
Report loss of damaged freight as required via workflow
Conduit for router and LPM to ensure compliance and delivery.
Follow EHS directives and warn others to follow the, execute mandatory EHS training and immediately report the incidents and near misses as required.
Review contract, complete TMS Project Set Up & expediated shipping instructions.
Accountable for on-time pick up, on time delivery and cost KPIs. Manage vessel RFQ/award process, including rate negotiations and ensuring billing accuracy.
Identify OOG cargo and download & distribute handling/transport drawings to carrier/routing team.
Support cost plus customer reimbursement processes as required.
Proactively solve problems/issues as they arise with routing team or shipment tracking utilizing multiple contacts for communication path.
Take ownership, complete execution, and continually communicate updates to involved parties proactively on projects.
Candidate will be expected to work in office, at the designated work location, up to 5 days per week
Further tasks not involved in this Job Description that the immediate leader/manager assigns with verbally or in writing
Minimum Qualifications
Four-year degree from an accredit university or college. Focus in Logistics & Transportation, Engineering, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
2 years of experience in Transportation (carrier experience preferred), Logistics, Demand/Supply Planning, Deployment/Replenishment Planning, or similar supply chain-related functions
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of supply chain and transportation planning business drivers, organization structures and transportation key performance indicators
Familiar with and/or have worked with Transportation Management Software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (engage with client stakeholders, warehouse, & logistics providers)
Capability to understand, manage, prioritize, and re-prioritize with a sense of urgency / Should be able to multi-task, prioritize and handle quick-turn projects
Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work under direction as a positive team member with a high tolerance for ambiguity and change
Strong analytical mind and quantitative abilities with problem-solving aptitude
Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a multicultural environment
Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $69,600.00 - $82,000.00 USD per year. Performance bonus: up to 5% variable incentive compensation or equity. Geographic differential: 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
