The Domestic Transportation Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and optimization of all U.S. transportation operations, with a focus on ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and compliance with carrier and customer requirements. This role will analyze transportation data, manage carrier performance, support daily shipment execution, work with all warehouses to ensure seamless shipment movement, and provide insights that improve service levels, reduce accessorial charges, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities Shipment Planning & Execution

Monitor daily shipments across parcel, LTL, TL, intermodal, and drayage mode inbound and outbound from all warehouses.

Ensure shipments comply with retailer routing guides, customer requirements, and internal SOPs.

Partner with warehouses, carriers, and freight forwarders and Supply Chain team to resolve exceptions (delays, missed appointments, accessorials, etc.).

Carrier Management

Track and evaluate carrier performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery, service failures, and cost per mile/pound.

Escalate recurring carrier issues and support corrective action plans.

Data & Analytics

Maintain and analyze transportation dashboards.

Identify cost-saving opportunities through network optimization, load consolidation, and appointment scheduling improvements.

Perform root cause analysis on delivery delays, missed pickups, or chargebacks.

Compliance & Documentation

Monitor and enforce adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer Service teams to support inventory flow and customer commitments.

Partner with IT to design and enhance system processes (TMS, ERP, reporting tools) to make shipping more efficient and reduce manual work.

Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders and external partners to prevent service disruptions.

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong knowledge of U.S. Transportation modes (LTL, TL, intermodal, drayage, parcel).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Effective communicator and problem solver, with a customer-service mindset.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).

3–5 years of experience in domestic transportation, carrier management or logistics analysis.

Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
