Position Overview The
Sr. Director, Clinical Services
is responsible for setting the clinical strategy, driving high‑quality outcomes and patient safety, and overseeing clinical education. The role works in alignment with the broader clinical strategy and elevates the strength of nursing/clinical services. The Sr. Director builds relationships with external clinical leaders and collaborates with internal departments to improve patient outcomes. The role leads the Group’s Clinical Landscape and strategic clinical alignment for outcomes, quality, and safety, partnering with the Group Vice President to proactively identify quality, safety, and outcomes issues and create action and implementation plans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safety Response & Readiness
Drive accountability with the team to their core safety responsibilities, ensuring timely completion of Safety Snapshots.
Provide on‑site support for large safety issues or Immediate Jeopardy surveys (CMS + CLUE).
Coaching & Talent Management
Coach MCS and DCS where underperforming or struggling with difficult relationships.
Create space for regular development conversations and advocate for TM growth opportunities/succession planning.
Engage with each Division Clinical Services team once a quarter, evaluating the culture of the division and meeting with DCS and MCS team.
Sets Clinical Strategy for Group
Lead the Group’s clinical landscape and strategic alignment on outcomes, quality and safety in partnership with the GVP.
Identify and surface key drivers impacting patient time on therapy; help solve problems and remove barriers, ensure implementation, and progress.
Drive action planning and process execution for opportunity areas and outlier support with operations leaders and key partners.
Report on division operations and clinical outcome trends to the leadership team and support creation and implementation of plans to improve trends.
National Clinical Strategy Support
Act as a strategic field partner with the Sr. Director of Clinical Services team to provide feedback to atlas leaders and support components of the Clinical Strategy.
Be a clinical voice on National forums to provide feedback, advocate for strong processes that enable field success.
Driving Clinical Outlier Support
Orchestrate the right clinical actions across the Group, by supporting DCS and DVP in the prioritization of clinical focus.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in clinical services management.
Minimum of 8-10 years of clinical experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes.
Specialized experience in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration.
Experience in a leadership role within a clinical setting.
Experience in dialysis or nephrology.
Certification in healthcare quality or patient safety.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Required:
Current RN license in the state of practice with no Board of Nursing disciplinary actions.
Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance in the state of residence.
Preferred:
Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or similar.
CPR & AHA certification.
Current or prior CNN, CSN, or Bonet certification.
