Starboard Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, manage cruise line AR/AP, and oversee financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage ongoing accounting department activities to ensure accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end closings.
Approve monthly accruals and other journal entries.
Prepare and review month‑end financial reports.
Maintain GL users during month‑end closing.
Analyze all monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Improve department procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with FP&A to prepare budget, balance sheet forecasting.
Create and maintain locations and cost centers.
Reconcile, manage, and settle intercompany transactions.
Reconcile cruise line accruals and report per contracts.
Corporate card reconciliations.
Update and manage Concur system for invoice processing.
Manage and approve advertising contracts to ensure financial accuracy and budgeting.
Calculate and prepare compensation for Port Shopping Guides.
Oversee cruise line accounts payable to ensure payments comply with contractual terms.
Provide year‑end tax business reports.
Prepare monthly Florida sales tax reporting and year‑end 1099 filings.
Manage cash forecasting for accurate projections.
Prepare periodic reports for commissions owed on advertising contracts sold by salespeople.
Conduct other ad‑hoc financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of accounting experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Problem‑solving skills.
Detail‑oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems.

Work Schedule & Physical Demands Full‑time, 30 hours per week, core hours 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking, standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing. May lift up to 20 pounds.
