Position Overview We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer to join the Power Development Engineering team supporting new power generation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership, and innovation to help drive advancements in reliability, affordability, and sustainability across various power generation projects—including gas, renewables, and energy storage. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain engineering standards and ensure design integrity, constructability, and compliance for all project elements. The Project Engineer will coordinate efforts among cross‑functional teams and serve as a key technical resource during the development phase of major power projects.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to develop and execute designs for new generation plants (gas and renewable), energy storage projects, and low/zero‑carbon technologies.

Ensure engineering deliverables are accurate, complete, and aligned with project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.

Provide technical guidance and oversight during all project phases, from concept to construction.

Support development and enforcement of engineering standards and best practices.

Review engineering designs, vendor drawings, and technical documents for compliance and constructability.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, external contractors, and project stakeholders.

Lead or participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and lessons‑learned sessions.

Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols.

Qualifications Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required.

Advanced degree preferred.

Experience

Project Engineer, Sr. Lead:

Minimum 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in power generation design, construction, or operations (8 years with PE/PMP or Master’s degree).

Project Engineer, Sr. Staff:

Minimum 12+ years of progressive professional experience (10 years with PE/PMP or Master’s degree).

Technical Expertise

Strong background in

combustion turbine power generation .

Experience with systems such as: Simple Cycle Combustion Turbine (CT), Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), Balance of Plant (BOP), Power Island Equipment (PIE).

Familiarity with model types including Mitsubishi M501J / M501JAC, GE 7FA / 7F.04 / 7F.05 / 7HA.01 / 7HA.02, and Siemens SGT6-5000F / SGT6-8000H.

Skills & Abilities

Expert knowledge of engineering principles in at least one discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, chemical, or construction).

Advanced understanding of engineering applications to power generation, including design, equipment, and technology integration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and general computer applications.

Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to manage and review large EPC contracts.

Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking capabilities.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Knowledge of permitting, construction methods, and QA/QC requirements for power generation facilities.

Professional Engineer (PE) License

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
