What We Are Looking For The Team Lead provides leadership and technical direction to a team of hourly production associates, ensuring safety, productivity and quality. Team Leads lead by example, act proactively to ensure smooth operations and collaborate across teams.
Essential Competencies
Provide leadership and assist in job set-up.
Direct daily activities in the work area to meet daily production goals.
Train and coach associates in manufacturing practices, quality practices and safety procedures.
Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information.
Identify proper hand tools for forming metal.
Communicate job status between shifts and continuity of work in progress.
Coordinate with supervisor for associate vacation requests.
Hold safety meetings monthly.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
Understand procedure for ordering metal, location of parts, and contacts for order notification.
Set the example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.
Have a working understanding of all basic safety procedures.
Understand emergency evacuation procedures.
Understand attendance and human resource policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Quantifiable Competencies
HS Diploma/GED.
4 years of relevant experience.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Competencies
Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements
May be required to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis.
Work is performed within a production environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
