Summary This role will support engineering test and development activities.
Responsibilities
Lead and support the engineering test activities by applying engineering principles, experiences, and various analysis tools in following established test plans/procedures to test parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards.
Depending on functional area, must perform objective and subjective testing by driving.
Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results.
Conduct vehicle benchmarking for the purpose of target setting.
Support vehicle tuning and instrument vehicles for objective tests.
Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology.
Coordinate with design and CAE teams to report results and develop countermeasures.
Travel to client/ test sites required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years of ECU testing/validation experience for Automotive systems such as Transmission, Engine, Battery Management Systems, Fuel Injection, etc
Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
Experience using INCA, CANalyzer, CANoe tools
Experience with programming using C, C# C++, Python
Experience with micro-controller I/O programming and control logic
Hands on experience with wrenching and vehicle instrumentation and performing vehicle level testing required.
Good understanding of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting and CAN structures
Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS office.
Formula SAE (FSAE), BAJA SAE, EcoCar, Mini BAJA SAE, experience preferred
Test track / driving experience preferred.
