As a Lead Member of Technical Staff, you’ll design and operate secure, scalable voice and data platforms that power exceptional customer experiences. You’ll translate complex business needs into resilient technical solutions, elevate our VoIP ecosystem, and set the bar for reliability, performance, and security across our networked services.
What You’ll Do
Translate requirements into solutions: Convert business requirements into engineered solutions grounded in information technologies and sound engineering principles.
Architect integrated systems: Design, develop, document, and analyze architectures for integrated voice/data systems to meet performance, scalability, reliability, usability, and security goals.
Engineer VoIP & network services: Apply advanced expertise in VoIP (e.g., SIP trunking, Cisco Unified Communications) and networking (TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, NAT, DNS, QoS/DSCP).
Implement & operate platforms: Implement, configure, and maintain service‑provider and enterprise VoIP networks; manage day‑to‑day operations of VoIP test systems and enforce VoIP server policies.
Own complex voice stacks: Work across Cisco, Oracle, and Avaya PBX solutions; Ribbon and Oracle SBCs; SIP proxy servers; dial plan design; call analytics; HRM apps; IVR; DTMF; and related routing components.
Analyze at protocol level: Perform end‑to‑end VoIP trace analysis across multiple elements using tools such as Wireshark, Radcom, and SIPp; manage incident tickets and escalation workflows.
Assure quality & security: Lead requirements analysis, test case development, functional/feasibility testing (including Class‑5 line‑side features), and system/integration testing of voice, data, and web components; oversee QA for web interfaces to VoIP subsystems; perform security monitoring and proactive usage/capacity monitoring.
Drive DevOps reliability: Execute production support, software releases/patches, and emergency hot fixes using DevOps best practices; leverage expert Linux RHEL/Unix skills and OSI L1–L4 networking.
Lead cross‑functional collaboration: Participate in and/or lead project meetings to report progress, resolve issues, and ensure solution requirements are delivered.
What You’ll Need
Expertise in VoIP & protocols: Mastery of VoIP technologies (e.g., SIP trunking, Cisco BroadWorks) and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, H.323, DTMF).
Tool proficiency: Hands‑on protocol analysis with Wireshark, Radcom, and IRIS; experience with call test automation tools such as SIPp.
Platform experience: Depth with Cisco, Oracle, and Avaya PBX solutions; Ribbon and Oracle SBCs; SIP proxy servers; dial plan design; HRM applications; call analytics; codecs; IVR; DTMF; and routing protocols.
Systems engineering & operations: Demonstrated success engineering, configuring, and maintaining enterprise VoIP networks; managing test systems; analyzing protocol traces; developing M&Ps for releases/patches; executing requirements analysis, testing, and compliance checks.
Security & reliability mindset: Ability to perform security monitoring, detect intrusions, and proactively optimize network usage for stability and performance.
DevOps & OS fundamentals: Strong Linux RHEL/Unix administration and networking across OSI Layers 1–4; readiness to support production releases and hot fixes.
What You’ll Bring
Education: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronic Engineering; or Bachelor’s (or foreign equivalent) in the same fields plus 5 years progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the offered role; or 5 years progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in a related role with specialized technical expertise.
Breadth across disciplines: Ability to apply technical principles and methods across multiple domains with a strong understanding of VoIP products, services, and internal operations.
Problem‑solving & leadership: Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, collaborate across teams, manage escalations, and communicate progress and trade‑offs effectively.
Quality focus: A rigorous approach to validation, test design, analytics, and continuous improvement—grounded in data and real‑world operations.
