Senior Leasing Attorney - Off Track (Multi-City)
DLA Piper is seeking a lawyer with a minimum of eight years’ experience handling commercial leases (office, industrial and retail) to join its Real Estate Group. Solar leasing experience is valued but not required. This position is open to our Atlanta, Boston, California, Chicago, Miami, New York, Reston, Texas, and Washington, DC offices.
Job Responsibilities
Lead in drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements such as transfer consents, lender subordination agreements, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs.
Supervise the work of less experienced leasing attorneys.
Interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, property managers, brokers, and other relevant parties.
Education JD
Bar Admission Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying.
Experience Minimum 8 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements such as term sheets, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs.
Job Competencies & Desired Skills
Understanding of the commercial leasing market and lease‑related issues.
Experience with leases for multiple property types, including office, retail, industrial, and life science.
Substantial experience representing landlords.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues.
Ability to understand clients’ business objectives and produce work quickly and efficiently.
Strong negotiating skills.
Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
Strong analytical and writing skills.

Pay Transparency The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $250,000 to $300,000 per year, depending on the geographic market location. Compensation is also dependent on experience, skills, education, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.
