Classification Title: Law Enforcement Academy, Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Gallatin College (Applicant Pool)
Brief Position Overview: Gallatin College is seeking a non‑tenure track instructor to teach at the Law Enforcement Academy as a Lead Instructor or co‑instructor. All curriculum has been developed and will be given to instructors at time of hire.

Other Law Enforcement Training Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand industry standards and best practices as well as college rules and regulations.
Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise.
Recognize safety hazards and unsafe operation of tools or equipment and be able to instruct students in proper use.
Maintain and inventory any applicable equipment utilized in the classroom or lab settings; inventory consumables and prepare reorder lists for restocking.
Maintain an organized and clean learning environment.
Provide and/or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
Required Qualifications
Be at least 21 years old
Two years of experience in training, teaching, or a related field.
Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted.
Have general knowledge of the theories and practices of law enforcement, public safety, and the criminal justice system.
Have an understanding of theories and practices related to adult learning.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience
Possess a bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited college/university
Subject Matter Expert in Topics of Instruction
Documented Experience with a Professional Law Enforcement Agency
Ability to pass a background investigation
Proficient in Spanish

Have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Gallatin College Montana State University.
Have an appreciation of diverse constituencies and add intellectual diversity to the department. A general knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point programs is required.
The ability to work extended hours as needed to accomplish training objectives.
Be self‑motivated to complete scheduled tasks with limited supervision.
Position Special Requirements / Additional Information Faculty – Gallatin College – Any position more than .5 FTE MAY BE eligible for benefits as outlined in the policies of the Montana Two‑Year College Faculty Association (MTYCFA), Montana State University, the Montana University System or the AFMSU Non‑Tenure Track Collective Bargaining Agreements.
