Under the general supervision of the Cardiac Testing Manager, performs and interprets ultrasonic evaluations of the heart for patients of all ages. The position requires mastery of cardiac ultrasound techniques and adherence to imaging protocols outlined in the CVI procedure manual.
Responsibilities
Perform M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography, Doppler echocardiography (pulsed, color flow, exercise, and contrast).
Explain procedures to patients and address questions.
Ensure patient safety and comfort in accordance with standards.
Assist in teaching cardiology fellows in advanced imaging techniques.
Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate patient needs.
Participate in data collection and analysis for research projects.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of professional disciplines through continuing education.
Adhere to quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control policies.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a CAAEP-accredited ultrasound program.
Eligibility to sit for the ARDMS certification examination.
Two years’ experience in cardiac ultrasound.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide patient care across developmental stages and cultural patterns.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements Healthcare environment involving direct patient contact and use of medical office equipment. May require walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Pay Range $38.78 – $64.00 per hour
