SAP Finance (FICO) Principal

We are looking for a talented (Hybrid) SAP Finance (FICO) Principal to join our team for our Business Transformation Unit in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Architecting scalable solutions, creating reusable design standards, delivering fit-for-purpose capabilities, driving strategic decision-making, establishing governance for change, ensuring compliance and performance, shaping the future-state architecture, and influencing industry and mentoring talent. To be successful in this role you will need the following: stakeholder balance & influence, a collaborative mindset, effective communication, strategic decision-making, change leadership, deep SAP expertise, architecture & solution design mastery, and risk & issue management. Education, licenses, certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Significant experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and design for cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of the latest trends in emerging technologies is highly preferred and includes: analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and governance and creating solution designs from them; proven architecture and design experience for cloud-based platforms; significant experience in the following are preferred: experience with architecting and integrating enterprise systems and data; experience in defining and weighing the trade-offs of different solution options; experience with IoT technology; experience in Agile software development and DevSecOps. Required Qualifications: 1012 years of extensive and proven hands-on configuration and implementation experience in SAP Finance & Controlling (FICO), with at least one full-cycle implementation in S/4 HANA 2023 or up to two prior versions (2021/2020). SAP certification required in S/4 HANA Finance (FICO); additional certifications or experience in Group Reporting, Central Finance, Treasury & Risk Management, or Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) will be considered a strong differentiator. Experience with integration to non-SAP financial systems and middleware (e.g., Mulesoft, Dell Boomi, OData services, APIs). Solution Architect experience in industries such as Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail, or Distribution, with emphasis on global finance processes and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of FICO solutions (FI, CO, New Asset Accounting, EBRR, ERV, Profitability Analysis, Group Reporting, and Central Finance) across multiple countries, ensuring delivery of complex, large-scale SAP programs with awareness of localization and statutory reporting requirements. Provide best practice guidance for S/4 HANA Finance implementations, leveraging out-of-box capabilities (Universal Journal, Fiori-based financial reporting, embedded analytics, event-based revenue recognition). Deliver process architecture expertise ensuring seamless integration with logistics modules (MM, SD, PP), Service/Projects (PS), and non-SAP edge financial systems such as Oracle Finance, Basware, High Radius, or BlackLine. Demonstrate hands-on configuration expertise in FICO submodules (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO-CCA, CO-PCA, CO-PA, Internal Orders, Product Costing), creating proof-of-concepts to showcase solution options and validate business requirements. Collaborate with business stakeholders and SI Partner to translate requirements into scalable, efficient SAP Finance solutions, ensuring adherence to "Adopt vs. Adapt" principles, with minimal custom development. Validate solutions proposed by SI Partners against SAP standard finance processes and internal design standards, ensuring harmonization across global deployments. Drive the end-to-end project lifecycle: blueprinting, design, configuration, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare, while providing overarching subject matter expertise and transition knowledge to AMS teams. Act as a subject matter expert in Finance, mentoring business process owners and junior SAP consultants, while guiding cross-functional teams in solution alignment. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving FICO integration points with other modules and provide direction on enhancements when justified. Support global rollouts of SAP Finance solutions ensuring compliance with local statutory, tax, and reporting requirements (e.g., e-invoicing, SAF-T, GST, VAT, GAAP/IFRS differences). Ensure proper integration with corporate planning and supply chain tools within the broader ecosystem (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Oracle Hyperion/EPBCS, SAP Analytics Cloud). Location: This position is remote and can be based in Indianapolis or Atlanta, with preference for candidates in Eastern or Central time zones. Relocation is not offered for this role. Compensation and Benefits: The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
