Production Scheduler / Production Planner

Overview The Production Planner is responsible for developing and implementing achievable production schedules, focusing on cost efficiency, and collaborating with Operations, third‑party manufacturing facilities, and global affiliates to meet forecasted requirements. The role involves managing purchase requisitions/orders, creating capacity plans, and addressing critical shortages with cross‑functional teams. The planner will distribute periodic reports (e.g., inventory and carbon chain balance), assist with new material setups (BOMs and recipes), and resolve moderately complex issues through immediate action or short‑term planning. Planning is primarily done at a monthly level with a daily view, heavily relying on Excel due to limited system tools. The role requires flexibility to support various plant departments and take on new projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage production schedules in Excel, capacity plans, and planning metrics for management.
Identify and mitigate critical shortages with Supply Chain Master Planner or Planning Manager.
Create and manage purchase requisitions/orders for tolling and buy/resale business.
Distribute reports (e.g., inventory, carbon chain balance).
Assist with BOMs and recipe setup for new materials.
Work collaboratively to resolve capacity, material shortages, and forecast/demand issues.
Take on additional projects and support plant departments as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Experience in manufacturing, process manufacturing, inventory control, or production environments.
