Store Environment Member role at Michaels Stores in Tuscaloosa, AL. Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises. Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop the store and find what they’re looking for. Responsibilities
Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures. Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures. Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and place products back in correct placement. Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. May mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. Deep clean key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff. Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment. Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor. Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines. Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers in keeping with the organization’s vision and values. Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members. Provide a fast and friendly check out experience; execute cash handling to standards. Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments. Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS). Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes. Support shrink and safety programs; adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements. Qualifications
Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred. Physical requirements: ability to remain standing for long periods; ability to move throughout the store; regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching; lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment. Work environment: public retail store setting; climate-controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks.
