Anexciting opportunity has arisen for 3 new joint substantive ConsultantNeurologist posts to work with the existing teams in the Neurology Departmentat Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust and Calderdale & Huddersfield FoundationTrust, delivering a general neurology service in both Trusts.
We are seeking candidates with skills indiagnosing and managing various general neurology conditions and to work alongsidethe current Neurology teams. Clinics willbe delivered at the Leeds General Infirmary and Calderdale & HuddersfieldNHS Trusts.
In addition, the successfulcandidate will be part of the neurology on call at the Leeds Teaching HospitalsLGI site for weekends and evenings.

Main duties of the job
Thesuccessful applicant should possess MRCP (or equivalent) and should be includedon the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview,if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointmentregulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the SpecialistRegister. Applicants should haveestablished skills in Neurology andits related specialties. A strongcommitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interestis desirable. Consideration will be given to applicantswho wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share. These 3 neurology consultant postsare developed as a joint post held jointly between Calderdale and Huddersfieldfoundation trust ( CHFT) and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). Thepost holder will be expected to actively engage with other consultantcolleagues in the development of future service models to meet the changingneeds of patients using the neurology services at CHFT and LTHT. Applicationsare encouraged from experienced consultants wishing to take up a new challengeor newly accredited consultants who will be supported through our highlyregarded development programmes. The post holder is encouraged to develophis/her own sub-specialty interest. We are keen to expand our Neuromuscular,Epilepsy, Movement disorders and Headache service in the region. Training, Research, Teaching & Audit
Should have completed a recognised training programme in Neurology and be able to demonstrate development of subspeciality expertise. Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research. Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors. Experience of participation in regular clinical audit. Previous experience of supervising research by junior staff. Previous attendance on Appraisal Techniques and Small Group Teaching Workshops. Experience
Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Neurology and a Subspeciality interest. Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances. Management, Interpersonal Skills & Other Requirements
Understanding of current issues in the NHS. *Well organised and skilled in good time management. *Effective interpersonal skills. *Demonstrate ability to relate to and work within a team. *Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice. *Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: -CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) CESR (or) international applicants should comply with the GMC specialty registration process. CESR applicants must be on the relevant Specialist Register at the time of application. Attendance at recognised management course. Qualifications
MRCP or equivalent qualification/demonstration of equivalent experience. Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice. YOUR GMC NUMBER MUST BE CLEARLY STATED IN YOUR APPLICATION FORM.
