Job Title Upper School Physics Teacher

Job Description As an Upper School Physics Teacher at All Saints’ Episcopal School, you will inspire and educate students in the fields of physics. You will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment, fostering students’ understanding and appreciation for physics and the broader field of science. Your role will be instrumental in shaping future scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers.

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement a challenging and comprehensive curriculum in physics for Upper School students.

Develop lesson plans, assessments, and resources that align with educational standards and learning objectives.

Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.

Foster critical thinking, problem‑solving, and a passion for physics.

Assess and evaluate students’ progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve.

Offer additional support and guidance to students who may require extra assistance in understanding physics and science concepts.

Encourage students to seek help and provide resources for academic growth.

Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes active participation and respect among students.

Enforce school policies and behavioral expectations.

Participate in or lead extracurricular activities related to physics or other STEM subjects.

Encourage students’ involvement in related clubs, competitions, and projects.

Stay current with educational best practices, pedagogy, and subject matter knowledge.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s educational program.

Communicate regularly with parents and provide updates on student progress and performance.

Collaborate with fellow teachers and contribute to the school’s academic community.

Serve as an advisor to students, guiding them in academic, extracurricular, social, and personal development and acting as the primary liaison to parents/guardians.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Physics, Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

A minimum of three years teaching experience at either the secondary or college level.

State teaching certification or relevant teaching credentials desired.

Strong knowledge of physics and mathematics, and the ability to teach advanced Physics courses.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Passion for inspiring students in the field of science.

Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Comfortable using online texts and resources, Learning Management System, and basic computer systems such as Google and Microsoft Suite applications.
