Job Overview The College of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Florida is seeking a non‑tenure track Research Assistant Scientist to conduct cutting‑edge research in the immunology and molecular biology of autoimmune Sjogren's disease (SjD). The role is based in the Cha lab and focuses on the molecular mechanisms of glandular inflammation and innate immune activation.
Responsibilities
Conduct molecular biology and immunology experiments related to SjD.
Investigate extracellular and intracellular triggers for innate immune cell activation.
Examine the roles of nucleic‑acid receptors and cytosolic RNA/DNA sensors in cytokine secretion and peripheral/Treg regulation.
Evaluate the efficacy of anti‑purinergic receptor therapy in vivo.
Maintain laboratory records, prepare manuscripts, and present findings at meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. (or equivalent) in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field.
Strong knowledge and skills in cell/molecular biology and/or immunology.
Experience with cloning is desirable but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cloning or related techniques.
Salary Commensurate with credentials and experience.
