Description

As the Permitting Manager at FINFROCK, you will play a crucial role in the Architecture Studio by assisting in all aspects of the permitting and documentation of a project. This includes familiarization with building departments (AHJs), permit submittals, and other construction related applications. This position offers the opportunity to work in a design studio and construction office environment where safety and teamwork are paramount.

Duties and Responsibilities

Attend project launch, take notes, and gather due diligence for building permit submissions in the proposed project jurisdiction. Communication with AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to establish rapport and gather important permit submission checklists and application related information. Relay agendas and schedule pre-permit meetings with AHJs. Collaborate with architectural design team to organize and distribute project construction drawings and supporting documentation, including internal filing, posting files for consultant and subcontractor use, and submission of drawings for permit review to AHJs. Tracking current permit status’ and AHJ permit comments for internal and external design teams. Preparation of permit comment response narratives. Completion of tasks associated with the construction team including but not limited to: tracking insurance certificates, tracking GC license information, tracking and submitting for permit extensions, preparation and submittal of building permit applications, TCO and CO applications and extensions, tracking and reporting on subcontractor permits, tracking and reporting of deferred submittals and document holds

Qualifications

A 4-year Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience with building/site/zoning permitting and documentation. Experience with MS Excel, Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProCore, PMWeb, or other construction management software. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement Proficiency in using computer systems and software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
