supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command’s Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa Training Area, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii’s (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.
We are currently hiring a
Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO)
for our Fleet Management Operations based at
Schofield Barracks, HI
to perform a wide range of driving duties that support Transportation operations tied to Military Logistic Support services throughout Oahu and the Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) on Hawai‘i island. This position is assigned to the Transportation Division and works under the general supervision and guidance of the Operations Supervisor and Transportation Division Manager.
The MVO will be a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic who will operate gasoline and diesel-powered box trucks, refrigerator trucks, tractors, buses, fuel trucks, and material handling equipment (MHE) to transport cargo, equipment, and people. Our MVO will utilize flat-bed and various types of lowboy trailers coupled by use of a turntable (fifth wheel) or pivotal hook to transport articles and materials, ensuring loads are properly secured prior to departing pick-up locations. Our MVO will also operate buses with rated capacity of 12 or more passengers for transporting military and civilian passengers. The normal work week begins at 12:01 a.m. on Monday and ends at 12:00 midnight the following Sunday. The work day begins at 12:01 a.m. and ends at 12:00 midnight and you are subject to being scheduled anytime between those hours.
Essential job duties include:
Operating a variety of equipment including tactical vehicles as scheduled/assigned
Operating MHE with the capacities varying from 2,000 - 50,000 lbs. in order to load, unload, transfer, stack or unstack cargo, equipment, hazardous and non-hazardous materials and supplies
Operating fuel trucks with dual tank capacity of 3000 gallons (1500 gallons per tank) in order to deliver fuel to various installations
Hauling water tank trailers with a capacity of 5000 gallons
Being knowledgeable of Federal & State transportation regulations and pre/post trip inspection requirements
Performing equipment, warehouse and container yard maintenance as required
Following verbal/written instructions as provided by the management team and outlined on the mission schedule
Completing necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
Enforcing safety rules and regulations while performing job functions
Utilizing personal cellular phone for communication with the management team
Maintaining all required endorsements, certifications, clearances required for employment
Reading/understanding/following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Reading/understanding the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and its requirements
Additional duties may include:
Cross-utilization in other job duties such as but not limited to safety, security and environmental
Housekeeping of office areas, warehouse, and container yard
Evaluation of other CDL A personnel as required
Overtime work as required
Other duties as deemed necessary
Work Conditions:
Work is typically performed outdoors while being exposed to different temperatures and weather conditions including rain, wind, thunder, lightning, and sunshine.
Work will require exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort, and will include driving, sitting, leaning, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting from 1-75 lbs.
The normal work week begins at 12:01 a.m. on Monday and ends at 12:00 midnight the following Sunday. The work day begins at 12:01 a.m. and ends at 12:00 midnight and you are subject to being scheduled anytime between those hours.
Overtime may be required from time‑to‑time.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum (five) 5 years of relevant work experience.
Current CDL A license
(required) , plus: Current X (HAZMAT and Tanker) endorsement
(required)
Current P (passenger) endorsement
(required)
Current Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
(required)
Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card
(required)
Employment is contingent on operator providing proof of and maintaining the endorsements/certifications listed above.
Ability to obtain favorable clearance to haul Arms, Ammunition & Explosives (AA&E) for installation activities via the Personnel Reliability Screening and Evaluation DA Form 7708. Employment is contingent on operator obtaining and maintaining this certification.

U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
