Location: Ski & Ride School building / On-mountain

Classification: Full-Time / Part-Time / Peak Part Time / Seasonal

Pay Range: $23.56–$33.99 per hour, based on certification level

Job Overview Solitude is seeking passionate and confident experienced ski & ride instructors for our upcoming winter season. This position involves teaching individuals and groups new skills and techniques to help improve their skiing ability. Certified Instructors provide participating guests with alpine skiing or snowboarding lessons emphasizing safety, fun, and learning. In addition to an hourly base rate, this role is eligible for incentives that can substantially increase take‑home pay. Instructors who hold certifications through PSIA/AASI (or equivalent international body) earn greater hourly rates and increased work opportunities. We offer exam reimbursement for instructors who achieve higher certification within the season.

Additional Requirements By Level

Level I Instructor:

Starting at $23.56 per hour; Strong understanding of educational concepts for first‑timer through beginner students; Current PSIA/AASI Level 1 Certification or equivalent.

Level II Instructor:

Starting at $26.78 per hour; Strong understanding of educational concepts for first‑timer through intermediate students; Current PSIA/AASI Level 2 Certification or equivalent.

Level III Instructor:

Starting at $30.90 per hour; Strong understanding of educational concepts for first‑timer through advanced/expert students; Current PSIA/AASI Level 3 Certification or equivalent.

Level IV Instructor:

Starting at $33.99 per hour; Strong understanding of educational concepts for first‑timer through advanced/expert students; Current PSIA/AASI Trainers Accreditation, Education Staff Member or equivalent.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Own and maintain contemporary skiing or snowboarding equipment, including a helmet.

Attend all required training, including orientations, on‑snow instructor training, and online modules assigned through Workday.

Be aware of scheduled shifts and maintain good attendance for all work assignments.

Communicate proactively with direct supervisors, administrators, and leadership team.

Be aware of and follow all resort and department policies/procedures.

Provide participating guests with lesson experiences that consistently exceed expectations.

Identify and facilitate guests' needs through observation and communication.

Work with counterparts on team to address guest experience issues.

Seek out and participate in educational opportunities that enhance your product.

Be a positive and professional ambassador of Solitude and Ski & Ride School.

Maintain a professional appearance and posture at all times.

Maintain accurate class lists daily.

Maintain accurate timekeeping for work assignments.

Complete other department tasks as assigned.

Certified Level 1 or higher in Alpine and/or Snowboard with PSIA/AASI.
