Job Description
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, either as part of their health routine or for life‑defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established practices and procedures. The role emphasizes creating a trustworthy, confident atmosphere while delivering accurate and safe specimen collection.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR I performs daily activities accurately and on time, maintains a safe and professional environment, and demonstrates leadership behaviors that focus on process excellence, sensitivity to confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain thorough records and documentation of all procedures.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Provide excellent patient service and explain procedures clearly.
- Follow established practices and procedures for both clinical and forensic specimen collection.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate patient information.
Job Requirements
- Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible and available to meet staffing needs (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime).
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington; preferred elsewhere.
- Minimum 6 months of experience required; one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer‑service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data‑entry experience a must.
Shift & Location
- Shift: Mon – Fri, 5:30 am – 2:30 pm with rotational Saturday shifts.
- Location: Tampa, Florida (exact address not provided).
