AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to our customers’ applications. In this role you will influence all aspects of Mechanical design, construction, operations, and maintenance for AWS data centers, including fire suppression, fire detection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems, as well as fire-resistant construction and life safety. You will work with internal and external teams to define, design, detail, and document Mechanical features using prescriptive and performance-based design approaches. As an Owner, you will help ensure Mechanical systems protect our people and keep customer data safe and uninterrupted over the building life cycle. You will contribute your expertise to continually improve Mechanical design standards. Responsibilities

Perform and oversee project-related work, such as water supply analysis and design for fire water service to buildings, including coordination with utilities and fire officials to establish basic site infrastructure requirements. Coordinate Mechanical space requirements, supporting utilities, and equipment locations. Provide detailed construction specifications for all Mechanical-related trades. Prepare detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems. Review design disciplines to ensure they meet code requirements described in design standards; may oversee and review or perform the work yourself as appropriate. Ensure contractors have the information needed to build data centers as intended; enable operations teams to operate and maintain facilities effectively. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (design, construction, commissioning, operations, vendors, service providers) and local building and fire officials. Work as part of a global team to advance safety, security, and reliability while supporting scalable cloud infrastructure. Travel up to 25% as required. Basic Qualifications

6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience. 6+ years in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or related sectors). Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment. Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance. Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities. Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering or Architectural License. Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region. Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production. Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents. About The Team

The base pay ranges from $128,600/year to $212,800/year, depending on location and factors such as knowledge, skills, and experience.
