Overview

Gynecologist Oncologist role at University Health KC. Full-time faculty position with University Health Physicians, an academic group practice affiliated with UMKC School of Medicine in conjunction with Truman Medical Centers/University Health (TMC/UH). University Health Truman Medical Center and University Health Physicians serve as the major teaching facility and safety net hospital for Jackson County/Kansas City, MO, with a 547-bed not-for-profit health system and a mission focused on Academic Medicine for All. The cancer program is Commission on Cancer-accredited and supported by a multidisciplinary team.

Location: Kansas City, MO (UH-TMC Health Sciences District and Lakewood locations). The department serves a diverse metropolitan area of approximately 2.4 million.

Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities include surgical and systemic therapy care for gynecologic oncology patients in the Kansas City metropolitan area and nearby communities. Provide care for cancers of the cervix, endometrium, fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, vagina, and vulva. Contribute to a full continuum of services for gynecologic malignancies. Participate in teaching and scholarly activities aligned with academic medicine. Academic duties include teaching medical students and residents, and engagement in research opportunities with fellows and residents. The department is involved in multiple clinics across two hospital campuses to support diverse patient populations and enhance the clinical research database.

Qualifications

Full-time faculty member who is Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gynecologic Oncology. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching medical students and residents and to caring for underserved populations seen at a safety net hospital. Ability to provide care to patients with diverse surgical pathology and act as a resource for department and community gynecologic surgeons. Interest in clinical research is preferred.
