Cooper University Hospital at Cape Regional is a 213-bed facility that includes a cancer center and the Claire C. Brodesser Surgery Center. The swing shift and nocturnist role will primarily handle admissions and cross coverage on the floor and ICU. The nocturnist or swing shift attending will work alongside an APP.
Position details Cooper University Hospital at Cape Regional is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to work full-time nights and swing shift at our Cape Regional location in Cape May Court House, NJ at 2 Stone Harbor Boulevard. We are a practice of more than 150 physicians and APPs. Cooper University Healthcare at Cape Regional is a non-profit, full-service community hospital with 213 licensed beds.
Responsibilities
Complete all duties of attending physician as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws
Coordinate all specialty consultations and resource utilization
Admit patients to the service
Discharge patients in a timely manner
At time of discharge/transfer will complete Discharge Instructions and medication reconciliation
Dictate DC Summary at time of discharge and indicate copy to be sent to family doctor and all specialists following patient during stay
Participate in QI and RM and UM as reasonably requested
Respond to Hospital codes as Lead Physician as requested
Participate as a back-up member of Rapid Response Team when Cooper Intensivists are not scheduled to be on the Rapid Response Team
Complete Medical Records in a timely fashion
Adhere to Medical Staff Bylaws and Hospital Rules and Regulations and policies
Perform other life/limb saving procedures as may from time to time be necessary
Make best effort to ensure compliance with all Core Measure quality indicators for patients under their care
Perform the duties as mutually agreed
Participate in teaching of house staff
Comply with the requirements of the voluntary teaching faculty
Respond to PRN calls for evaluation/orders
