Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in McLean, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting processes. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in general ledger management and advanced financial systems. Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of three accounting staff, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close processes.
- Provide guidance and support to ancillary accounting teams, including finance, audit, and tax departments.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations and prepare journal entries with precision.
- Utilize ERP tools such as SAP, Oracle Financials, BlackLine, and advanced Excel to complete accounting functions.
- Deliver comprehensive financial statement audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate on project analysis during critical periods, such as year-end and financial close.
- Apply advanced Excel skills to perform complex financial calculations and data analysis.
- Uphold a customer-focused approach in providing general ledger support across various teams.
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with expertise in general ledger management.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes and financial statement audits.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle or SAP and BlackLine software.
- Advanced skills in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Previous experience in supervising accounting teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA required.
