Accounting Analyst

Alliance Catholic Credit Union is seeking an exceptional and experienced Accounting Analyst who thrives in a well‑organized, fast‑paced, and multi‑task driven environment. This position will report directly to the Controller at our Farmington Hills location.

Ideal Candidate

• Review and analyze financial data and activity, including analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepare various financial, regulatory, and special reports as requested by management, including monthly comparative financial data and certain quarterly Call Report schedules, with a focus on producing high quality results and in accordance with established deadlines.
• Balance and reconcile general ledger accounts assigned (daily and monthly), with attention to accuracy and reasonableness; prepare and post accounting entries; timely and effectively identify, research, track and resolve open items, variances and discrepancies.
• Assist with efforts to identify and implement process and reporting improvements:
• Develop, update and balance complex spreadsheets for various accounting functions.
• Develop, document and consistently follow procedures for various accounting processes, including an effective and timely month‑end close process.
• Prepare analyses for Senior Management as requested and assist with other accounting‑related projects and duties, both recurring and ad‑hoc, as assigned.
• Assist with updating and maintaining the Current and Expected Credit Loss model.
• Ensure Accounting documents, financial reports, tax documents, and related reports are timely and accurately completed and/or filed.

A successful candidate will be an approachable team player with a personable and professional demeanor, a desire to learn and driven to achieve outstanding results—accurately and efficiently. We seek a candidate with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field and a minimum of two years of accounting experience, preferably within a credit union or other financial institution. Technical knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, procedures, and financial reports, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel skills, and an understanding of related regulations, statutes, and filing requirements preferred.
