Job Summary As an OT III, you will independently evaluate, diagnose, and plan intervention for neonatal patients with functional impairments. You will provide clinical leadership, develop programs, supervise staff, and conduct research as needed. You will serve approximately 85% of patients directly and provide guidance and program development 15% of the time.
Essential Responsibilities
Evaluate patients, discuss findings, and implement a plan of care; regularly re‑evaluate status and adjust the plan.
Provide teaching to patients and families, supervise students, and prepare and present in‑services and educational lectures.
Mentor and assess the competence of less experienced therapists, assistants, and support personnel; communicate outcomes to managers.
Lead designated clinical programs; collect, analyze, and review outcome data to recommend performance improvements.
Initiate and pursue opportunities in program development, teaching, quality assurance, performance improvement, research, and administration to meet department needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred).
License as an Occupational Therapist; Basic Life Support certification (Certificate 1).
5–8 years of related work experience.
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification.
Basic familiarity with computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
AOTA membership.
Competencies
Written Communications
– Summarize and communicate moderately complex information in written English.
Oral Communications
– Understand and convey complex verbal information in English to staff, patients, families.
Knowledge
– Apply full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and policies in varied situations.
Team Work
– Work collaboratively in small teams, offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting teammates.
Customer Service
– Provide high‑level customer service and staff training to meet standards and resolve issues promptly.
Age‑Based Competencies Provide patient care to the following age groups: Young adult (16‑30 years), Middle Age (30‑60 years), Elderly (60+ years).
Physical Nature of the Job Medium work: Exert up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 20 pounds frequently. The role requires standing and moving throughout the shift.
Employees must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
