Our client specializes in helping individuals and businesses resolve complex tax issues with the IRS and state tax authorities. Position Overview: The Tax Attorney will represent clients in matters involving the IRS and state tax agencies, including audits, appeals, collections, and tax controversy cases. This role requires strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, exceptional negotiation skills, and a client-focused approach to resolving tax disputes efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in communications and negotiations with the IRS and state taxing authorities.
Provide legal counsel and develop strategies for resolving tax disputes, including audits, collections, and appeals.
Prepare legal documents such as offers in compromise, installment agreements, and penalty abatements.
Advise clients on potential tax liabilities and compliance requirements.
Conduct legal research and stay current on changes in tax legislation and regulations.
Collaborate with accountants, enrolled agents, and case managers to deliver comprehensive tax relief solutions.
Maintain client confidentiality and ensure compliance with all professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the State of Florida.
Minimum of 2 or more years of experience in tax law, IRS representation, or tax resolution preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes, audit procedures, and tax litigation processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with tax relief or tax resolution firms.
LL.M. in Taxation or relevant advanced tax coursework.
Prior IRS or state tax agency experience.
